The Michigan AIDS Coalition (MAC) was formed February 1, 2009 when the Michigan AIDS Fund (MAF) and the Midwest AIDS Prevention Project (MAPP) completed a merger that we strongly believe will best serve the community in this difficult economic environment and serve as an example to other organizations contemplating similar decisions. MAC is one of Michigan’s largest non-profit, community-based organizations dedicated to health promotion, harm and risk reduction, HIV and sexually transmitted disease prevention education, grant making and public policy. MAC has conducted thousands of workshops and trainings, reaching over a half million people – 30,000 in the last year alone. MAF and MAPP bring more than 30 years combined experience in HIV/AIDS advocacy, education and outreach to the newly formed MAC. We will continue this mission until it is no longer necessary.
